Toronto real estate. SALES UP IN NOVEMBER

Toronto Real Estate Board Members reported 3,008 sales during the first half of November, an increase of four per cent from the 2,886 sales recorded during the same timeframe in 2005, said Toronto Real Estate Board President Dorothy Mason .

“Although the holiday season is almost upon us, momentum from the autumn market has carried over and things remain very active,” Mrs. Mason said, noting that sales this month are also marginally ahead of mid-October's mark of 3,007.

TREB’s President said, “The GTA market is performing well, and consumers can be confident that it’s a good time to purchase their first home or move to a different home for a change in lifestyle.”

Prices of resale homes continued to climb in most major centres across
Canada last
month……According to figures from the Canadian Real Estate Association, the average resale house price increased by 9.6 per cent to $301,516 between October 2006 and the same month last year.

The most expensive resale homes continued to be found in
Vancouver, where the average October price was $548,022, up more than 20 per cent from October 2005. New listings grew by almost 19 per cent.
