Good news for Homeowners! Ontario electricity rates decreasing slightly

Turning on the lights in Ontario is going to cost slightly less this winter.Homeowners will notice a small reduction of about 5.8 per cent on their electricity bills.

That'll equal a savings of about $6.60 for households using 1,000 kilowatts per hour; although it will vary across the province.

The Ontario Energy Board says consumers can thank a milder summer for the price drop.

The board has also changed the billing system so homeowners can use up to 1,000 kilowatts per hour this winter before moving up to the next price range. The benchmark was 600 kilowatts per hour for the summer season before the higher price kicked in.
